These coins were minted in Rome and then shipped to the mid-east for circulation. Why they were not simply minted in Antioch is still a mystery.

Hygieia was the daughter of Asklepios and the "mother" of modern Hygiene. This coin was meant to advertise the health benefits of its lovely hot springs and was probably modeled after a statue there.
